A Police standoff in Odessa, MO happened last night 10/30/2012 on Chesnut street east of Johnson Drive.  Higginsville, Johnson County Sherriff and State troopers were all on the scene.  People in the area reportedly heard a helicopter thought to be assisting in the incident.  Also there are reports of three gunshots fired.  More information will be added when available.

Update --

The "shots" hear were really a type of teargas used to subdue the perp.  He was armed with a handgun, but was knocked out in only his underwar when police apprehended him.

He was taken into custody and placed into the Odessa city jail.
